Our animal sanctuary is extremely remote. It is situated on 42 acres in the high desert of New Mexico in a valley within the Cerrillos Hills, 24 miles south of Santa Fe, six miles back a dirt road.…a very good place to dispense with unwanted animals…and they do find us. Although the beauty is astounding, at an altitude of 6,000 feet the climate is quite harsh…extreme heat during the summer months, and cold, windy, snow and/or mud covered winters and springs. Shelter from this environment, for all of the animals is an ongoing project. Although the cows and horses are free ranging at times, fencing has become a priority due to others moving into this valley.
